Logan Hellwig has served as an assistant coach for the University of Rhode Island women's swimming and diving program in Kingston, Rhode Island, since joining the staff in June 2022. Before arriving at URI, he began his coaching career with the Connecticut Aquatic Club in Groton, Connecticut, where he worked as an assistant coach under Jon Caswell.
A Westerly, Rhode Island, native, Hellwig competed for St. Bonaventure's men's program from 2014 to 2018 in the Atlantic 10, specializing in butterfly, backstroke, and freestyle. He also contributed to relay teams, including a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2016. In 2021, he swam 9.72 miles from Block Island to the mainland in Charlestown, Rhode Island, completing the crossing in 4:09.
