Leandro Vissotto
Associate Head Coach
Leandro Vissotto serves as the Associate Head Coach for the University of Miami women’s volleyball program, bringing more than two decades of elite international playing and coaching experience to Coral Gables. A former standout with the Brazilian National Team, Vissotto transitioned into collegiate coaching after a decorated professional career, immediately making an impact at the NCAA level. Prior to joining Miami, he held the associate head coach position at the University of South Florida, where he played a key role in guiding the Bulls to their first American Athletic Conference regular-season championship in 22 years. That historic season included a 14–2 conference record and the development of an AAC Player of the Year honoree, underscoring his ability to elevate team and individual performance.
As a player, Vissotto competed at the highest levels of international volleyball, representing Brazil for 15 years and earning a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He was also a four-time FIVB World Champion and competed extensively in Brazil’s top professional leagues, where he later served as a player-assistant coach. His transition from elite international competition to coaching has been defined by a deep technical understanding of the game, a global perspective on player development, and experience mentoring athletes in high-pressure environments. At Miami, Vissotto applies that knowledge to recruiting, training, and tactical preparation, contributing to the continued growth and competitiveness of the Hurricanes volleyball program within the ACC and on the national stage.
