Lauri Kenis is the associate head coach for the University of Maryland women's lacrosse program in College Park, Maryland. She rejoined the Maryland staff in July 2007 after earlier serving as an assistant coach for the Terrapins in 2004 and 2005, and she previously coached at Denver in 2006 and 2007. Over 15 seasons in her second stint at Maryland, she helped the program win five national championships, reach 12 Final Fours, and claim 21 conference championships.
Kenis has been widely associated with Maryland's defensive success. Since the Terrapins entered the Big Ten in 2015, her units captured 10 conference titles and Maryland produced the Big Ten Defender of the Year every season under her watch. Players she coached also earned major national recognition, including eight Tewaaraton Award winners, seven IWLCA National Defenders of the Year, four IWLCA National Goaltenders of the Year, nine conference defenders of the year, and five conference goaltenders of the year.
