Lauren “Lo” Herseth is the head volleyball coach at Central Washington University, assuming the role in December 2025 after serving in multiple capacities on the Wildcats’ coaching staff since 2020. Prior to her promotion, she was the associate head coach and played a key role in one of the most successful stretches in program history. During her tenure, Central Washington earned five consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and captured GNAC championships in 2024 and 2025. The 2025 season marked another milestone, as the Wildcats posted a 19-8 overall record, secured a share of the conference title, and recorded multiple wins over nationally ranked opponents, including a notable NCAA Tournament victory over Simon Fraser.
A former Wildcat student-athlete, Herseth competed for Central Washington from 2011 to 2014, contributing to three NCAA Tournament appearances and finishing among the program’s top performers in matches and sets played. She holds the school record for reception percentage and was a team captain as well as a three-time GNAC All-Academic selection. After graduating, she began her coaching career at Saint Martin’s University and Olympia High School before returning to CWU. In addition to her volleyball background, Herseth was actively involved in campus leadership, serving as Student Athlete Advisory Committee president and briefly competing in women’s basketball. Her deep connection to the program and proven track record in player development position her to continue the Wildcats’ competitive success.
