Laura McGlaughlin is the associate head coach for swimming and diving at Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, and enters her seventh season with the program in 2026-27. A Villanova alumna, she returned to her alma mater in 2020-21 after coaching stops at Penn and Georgetown. She was promoted to associate head coach before the 2022-23 season after spending her first two years back on staff as an assistant, and she had also previously worked under head coach Rick Simpson for two seasons after graduating in 2013.
Since rejoining Villanova, McGlaughlin has been part of a staff that led the women's program to six straight BIG EAST championships. The men's team finished as high as second at the conference meet, and the Villanova women produced the BIG EAST Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet in five of her first six conference championship trips after her return. The staff was recognized as BIG EAST Women's Coaching Staff of the Year each season in that span and also received Men's Co-Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2026. In her first two seasons back as an assistant, Villanova's women won consecutive BIG EAST titles, the men posted two top-three conference finishes, and Kelly Montesi became the program's first NCAA Championship qualifier since 2013.
