Laura Berg is the head coach of the Oregon State softball program, entering her 13th season leading the Beavers. A former Olympic gold medalist and one of the most decorated players in softball history, Berg has guided Oregon State to sustained competitiveness within the Pac-12 and on the national stage. During her tenure, she has led the program to multiple NCAA Regional appearances and a historic Women’s College World Series berth in 2022, where the Beavers finished the season ranked No. 8 nationally. Known for her offensive development and work with outfielders, Berg has helped produce All-Americans, record-breaking hitters, and numerous all-conference performers while steadily elevating the program’s profile.
Before becoming head coach, Berg joined Oregon State as an assistant in 2012 following a legendary playing career at Fresno State and with Team USA. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of international softball, winning three Olympic gold medals and one silver, along with numerous world championship titles. Berg has also been deeply involved with USA Softball as both a player and coach, contributing to multiple international medal-winning teams. Her extensive experience at the highest levels of competition, combined with her leadership and player development expertise, has made her a transformative figure for Oregon State softball and a respected leader in the sport.
