Larry Anderson is an assistant coach for the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball program, joining the Eagles after working under head coach Dan Monson at Long Beach State during the 2023–24 season. In his first year at Eastern Washington, Anderson played a key role in player development, particularly with the guards, and contributed to a team that ranked among the top in the Big Sky Conference in steals and assists. His coaching helped elevate several players to career-best performances while also assisting with the seamless integration of transfers into the program.
Before transitioning to Eastern Washington, Anderson was part of a successful Long Beach State staff that captured the Big West Tournament title and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. The team also posted strong offensive numbers, leading the conference in multiple statistical categories, while achieving a program-best team GPA. Anderson’s coaching journey includes a stop at Cerritos College, where he mentored student-athletes both academically and athletically. As a former standout player at Long Beach State, he was named Big West Defensive Player of the Year in 2012 and finished his career among the program’s all-time leaders in scoring, rebounds, and assists. He went on to play professionally in the NBA G League and overseas, bringing valuable playing experience and insight to his coaching role.
