Laine Simmons is an assistant softball coach at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, returning to the Stags staff after working with several youth-level programs following her graduation from Bowling Green State University.
Simmons played collegiately as a catcher at Morehead State before finishing her career at Bowling Green. At Morehead State, she started 46 games across two seasons, hit .250 as a freshman with 10 runs scored, 12 RBI, and three home runs, and followed with a .244 average as a sophomore. Her sophomore season included a three-run walk-off home run against Cleveland State in the 2016 opener.
