Kyle Clinton
Assistant Coach
Kyle Clinton is a soccer coach with a broad range of collegiate, youth, and professional experience. He joined the Eckerd College men’s soccer coaching staff in the summer of 2024 and is entering his second season on the sidelines for the 2025 campaign, where he serves as an Assistant Coach helping to develop the Tritons’ program. Before his time at Eckerd, Clinton spent over a decade with the Chargers Soccer Club in Clearwater, Florida, where he held leadership roles including MLS Next Assistant Director and MLS Next Head Coach, focusing on elite youth player development in one of the country’s premier academies. Concurrently, he contributed to the coaching staff of St. Petersburg FC in USL League Two, first as an assistant in 2023 before taking on head coaching responsibilities in 2024.
Clinton’s coaching career is built on a strong foundation as both a player and mentor. He began his coaching journey in South Carolina at his alma mater Francis Marion University, serving as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach and Goalkeeper Coach, and at Kings Academy Christian School. He also has experience with the Tampa Bay Rowdies during the 2013–2014 seasons. As a player, Clinton enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Francis Marion University, where he was a four-year starter, team captain, and decorated attacker with significant goal and assist totals. He also played professionally in the North American Soccer League with the GPS Portland Phoenix and Mississippi Brilla in the USL PDL.
