Kristaps Aldins
Head Coach
Kristaps Aldins is the long-serving head coach of the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball program in Hoboken, New Jersey, where he has been at the helm since the summer of 2011. Over his tenure, he has guided the Ducks to numerous milestones, including four regular-season conference championships across the MAC Freedom, CUNYAC, and Empire 8, a CUNYAC Tournament title, and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances—capped by the program’s first NCAA Tournament game victory and an at-large bid in 2022. Aldins is recognized for his leadership, having amassed over 300 career wins and earning multiple coaching staff awards. His emphasis on competitive excellence and player development has also seen several former student-athletes sign professional contracts with Major League Baseball organizations and independent leagues.
Before his time at Stevens, Aldins developed his coaching foundation with assistant roles at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University. He also coached internationally, leading the Latvian National Baseball Team in European qualifiers and securing historic victories for the program. A former collegiate standout at Vassar College and dual citizen of the United States and Latvia, Aldins blends strong technical knowledge with a global perspective on the game. Beyond competition, his contributions include committee leadership within the American Baseball Coaches Association and active involvement in regional baseball advisory roles.
