Krissy Carman joined the University of Oregon women’s golf program as an assistant coach in July 2023, bringing a unique combination of high-level playing experience and strong regional ties to the Ducks. A native of Canby, Oregon, Carman quickly established herself as one of the top amateur golfers in the country prior to joining the coaching ranks. Her breakthrough came in 2022 when she captured the prestigious USGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, earning a spot in the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach. That same year, she also won the Oregon Stroke Play Championship and the Oregon Amateur Championship, signaling her return to elite competition after a brief hiatus from the game.
Before her amateur success, Carman—who competed collegiately under her maiden name, Krissy Peterson—played at Oregon State before finishing her career at Portland State. At PSU, she earned first-team All-Big Sky honors and multiple all-tournament selections while becoming the program’s first Oregon Women’s Amateur champion. Known for her work ethic and relatability, Carman transitioned seamlessly into coaching, where she supports head coach Derek Radley in continuing to build one of the nation’s top programs. Her journey as both a competitor and mentor provides valuable perspective for student-athletes striving for success at the collegiate and national levels.
