Kris Richard is Stanford football's Willie Shaw Director of Defense and defensive backs coach. He brings extensive NFL experience to the Cardinal, including three seasons as defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks and recent defensive backs roles with the Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints.
Richard helped shape Seattle's championship-era secondary and was on staff for two Super Bowl appearances, including the franchise's Super Bowl XLVIII win. A former USC defensive back and NFL cornerback, he also coached with the Dallas Cowboys and Saints, developing defensive backs and helping several units rank among the league's better pass defenses.
