As Associate Head Coach of the Florida Gators, entering his fourth season in 2025–26, he played a pivotal role in Florida’s 2025 national championship, guiding the team to a 36-4 record, SEC Tournament title, and a Final Four appearance — all milestones that underscored a dominant season. er his leadership, the Gators closed out the 2024-25 campaign with a 12-game win streak, including multiple top-25 and top-12 wins, and achieved both program and SEC records in scoring, rebounds, and three-point shooting.
Before joining Florida in 2022, McCray held assistant and associate roles at several institutions including Mississippi State, UCLA, LSU, Florida State, Mercer, and Chipola Junior College. At Mississippi State, he was especially strong in recruiting, player development (particularly guards), and scouting. He played collegiately at Mercer, where he was a four-year player, team captain, and among the school’s leaders in assists.
