Kodi Burns
Associate Head Coach / Co-Offensive Coordinator / Wide Receivers
Kodi Burns returned to Auburn University in December 2025 as Associate Head Coach, Co-Offensive Coordinator, and Wide Receivers coach, marking his third coaching stint at his alma mater. A four-year letterwinner and national champion as a player, Burns brings 11 years of collegiate coaching experience, including seven in the SEC, along with three seasons in the NFL. Most recently, he served under head coach Alex Golesh at South Florida in 2025, helping guide one of the nation’s most explosive offenses. The Bulls finished second nationally in total offense and fourth in scoring, while his wide receiver unit produced 243 receptions, 3,315 yards, and 32 touchdowns.
Burns previously coached wide receivers for the New Orleans Saints from 2022–24, contributing to the development of Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. His earlier collegiate stops include Tennessee, where he mentored 1,000-yard receiver Cedric Tillman, and Auburn (2016–20), where he held multiple offensive leadership roles and helped the Tigers win the SEC West in 2017. As a player at Auburn, Burns began his career as a quarterback before transitioning to wide receiver, totaling nearly 2,300 yards and 22 touchdowns. He scored the first touchdown in Auburn’s 2010 BCS National Championship victory over Oregon. A native of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Burns earned his degree in exercise science from Auburn in 2011.
