Kirk Ciarrocca
Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks
Kirk Ciarrocca is an experienced American college football coach serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights. In 2025 he is in his third season of his second stint with Rutgers, bringing over 30 years of coaching experience, including more than two decades as an offensive coordinator. Ciarrocca’s role places him at the forefront of the Scarlet Knights’ offensive strategy and development, where he oversees quarterback play and the overall offensive game plan. Under his guidance, Rutgers’ offense has shown measurable improvement, with notable achievements such as team records in total offense and rushing performance in Big Ten competition. He has also been recognized nationally, earning a nomination as a semifinalist for the Broyles Award, which honors the top assistant coaches in college football.
Before returning to Rutgers in 2023, Ciarrocca built a distinguished coaching résumé across multiple programs and levels. His earlier tenure at Rutgers (2008–10) under head coach Greg Schiano included contributing to two bowl victories. Ciarrocca also held offensive coordinator positions at the University of Minnesota, where his offense enjoyed success in the Big Ten, and at Penn State. His coaching career spans additional stops at Western Michigan, Delaware, Richmond, and other institutions, where he helped develop quarterbacks and offensive talent that advanced to the NFL. A native of Pennsylvania, Ciarrocca played football collegiately and later earned degrees from Temple University, where he began his coaching journey.
