Kiara Snel
Assistant Coach
Kiara Snel enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Alabama A&M University women’s soccer program, bringing experience from both collegiate coaching and international competition. She began her coaching career at New College of Florida, where she helped build the women’s soccer program during its inaugural season in the NAIA Sun Conference. In addition to serving as an assistant with the first team, Snel acted as head coach of the reserve squad, designing training sessions, preparing players for promotion to the first team, and reintegrating athletes returning from injury. Her responsibilities included technical development, fitness preparation, match analysis, and recruiting support, giving her a comprehensive understanding of program development.
Snel later served as an assistant coach at Spartanburg Methodist College, contributing to the team’s transition from NJCAA competition to the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference. She was actively involved in daily training, match preparation, player development, travel coordination, and academic support. Beyond collegiate coaching, Snel represented the Curaçao Women’s National Team at the senior level, gaining valuable international playing experience that shapes her coaching philosophy today. Known for her energetic and relational coaching style, she emphasizes discipline, adaptability, and leadership while mentoring student-athletes holistically—on the field, in the classroom, and beyond.
