Kevin Leighton is the head baseball coach at Fordham University in Bronx, New York, a position he has held since his appointment in July 2011 after six seasons as head coach at Manhattan College.
Leighton arrived at Fordham after building one of the most successful stretches in Manhattan's program history. He won more than 30 games in each of his six seasons with the Jaspers and finished his tenure with a 200-119-1 record. His 2011 team went 34-19, won the MAAC regular-season title with a 20-2 league mark, captured the conference championship, and advanced to the NCAA tournament. That season also produced six All-MAAC selections, the league's Pitcher of the Year, and four ABCA Northeast Region honorees, while Leighton was named MAAC Coach of the Year. Earlier, in 2006, he guided Manhattan to its first MAAC title under his leadership and an NCAA regional final appearance after a 34-win season that included three victories over nationally ranked opponents, highlighted by a win over Nebraska in regional play. He was recognized that year as the ABCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year.
