Kevin Coyle
Senior Defensive Analyst
Kevin Coyle joined the UCLA Bruins football staff in late September 2025 as a Senior Defensive Analyst, entering his 48th year of coaching and 31st at the collegiate level. Within days of his arrival, he assumed defensive play-calling duties for the Bruins beginning with the Sept. 27 game at Northwestern.
Coyle’s coaching résumé spans both college and professional football. He served as Defensive Coordinator at Fresno State Bulldogs from 2022-24, helping rebuild the defense into a top-five unit in the Mountain West Conference. Prior, he spent 17 years in the NFL, including stints as Defensive Backs Coach for the Cincinnati Bengals and Defensive Coordinator of the Miami Dolphins. With UCLA, Coyle is expected to bring veteran strategic leadership, bolster the Bruins’ defensive scheme, and mentor the unit during a program transition under interim head coach Tim Skipper.
