Head Men's Basketball Coach
Kevin Broadus is in his seventh season as head coach of the Morgan State University men’s basketball program, a position he has held since 2019. During his tenure, Broadus has focused on steadily rebuilding and elevating the Bears within the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, emphasizing competitiveness, resilience, and player development. Under his leadership, Morgan State has consistently achieved double-digit win totals and strengthened its presence in conference play. The 2024–25 season marked another step forward, as the Bears finished 14–18 overall and 7–7 in MEAC competition, posted an impressive 11–4 home record at Hill Field House, and advanced to the MEAC Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2022. His teams have also gained national exposure through participation in high-profile events such as the NBA All-Star HBCU Classic and the Boost Mobile HBCU Challenge.
Broadus brings decades of high-level coaching experience to Morgan State. Prior to his arrival, he served as head coach at Binghamton University, leading the program to its first America East championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. He also held prominent assistant coaching roles at Georgetown University under John Thompson III, contributing to multiple Big East titles and a Final Four run in 2007, and at the University of Maryland under Mark Turgeon. Known as a strong recruiter and mentor, Broadus has coached numerous future professional players while maintaining a strong commitment to academic and personal development. A native of the Washington, D.C. area, he played collegiately at Bowie State University and holds degrees in business administration and counseling. Broadus and his wife Belinda are parents to four children.
