Kelsey Franks is in her first season as associate head coach for Temple University women's rowing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A 2016 Temple graduate, she spent four years in the program as a Varsity 8+ coxswain and was part of one of the most successful stretches in school history. As a senior, she helped Temple place third at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship, the program's best finish at that time, earned a bronze medal in the Varsity 8+, and received All-Conference Second Team honors. That season, her crew also collected two American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week awards.
Before returning to Temple, Franks was head coach of the La Salle women's rowing program. After beginning in an assistant role, she was elevated to lead the program in fall 2021. In her first season as head coach, La Salle posted its best Atlantic 10 team finish since 2003 and its strongest Varsity 8+ result in more than a decade. At the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship, all four La Salle boats reached the grand finals for the first time in program history, including the program's first Varsity 8+ grand final appearance and the highest-ever conference championship finish for the 2nd Varsity 8+. By her second spring leading the team, La Salle recorded its highest team finish since 1998 and the third-best conference finish in program history. Her tenure also included notable results at the Head of the Charles, Murphy Cup, Kerr Cup, Navy Day Regatta, and Head of the Schuylkill.
