Kelly Rae Finley
Head Coach
Kelly Rae Finley assumed the role of Head Coach of the Florida Gators women’s basketball team in February 2022 after serving as interim head coach. She entered her fifth full season leading the program in 2025-26, having guided Florida to a postseason appearance in every season since taking over. Her first season as head coach saw a 21-11 record, the Gators’ first 20-win season since 2015-16, five ranked opponent wins, and various coaching honors including WBCA Spalding Maggie Dixon Rookie Coach of the Year and USA Today Sports SEC Coach of the Year.
Prior to becoming head coach, Finley held assistant and associate head coaching roles. She was on staff at Harvard, Colorado, and Arizona before joining Florida in 2017. She played college basketball at Northwestern (one year) then at Colorado State University, where she graduated in 2008 with a degree in human development and family studies. Her tenure has also been marked by strong recruiting classes, including acquiring some of the top-ranked recruits in program history, and developing players who have gone on to be drafted into the WNBA.
