Kelly Keelan
Associate Head Coach
Kelly Keelan is an experienced collegiate soccer coach serving as the Associate Head Coach for the University of Miami women’s soccer program, a role she was promoted to ahead of the 2025 season after joining the Hurricanes’ staff in May 2024. In her first season with Miami, the Hurricanes compiled a 5-8-4 overall record and saw multiple players earn ACC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors. Freshman Giovana Canali earned All-ACC Freshman Team and Third Team All-ACC honors under Keelan’s guidance, highlighting her immediate impact on player development and team performance.
Keelan brings more than a decade of Division I coaching experience. Before arriving in Coral Gables, she spent two seasons on the women’s soccer staff at Virginia Commonwealth University. She also had a significant tenure at Vanderbilt University alongside Head Coach Ken Masuhr, helping the Commodores to 78 victories, a 2018 SEC Regular Season Championship, a 2019 SEC East Title, and the 2020 SEC Tournament Championship. Her earlier coaching stops include Georgetown University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Ohio University, where she coached goalkeepers and attackers, contributing to numerous defensive and offensive successes. As a collegiate athlete at George Mason University, Keelan demonstrated versatility as both a goalkeeper and forward, contributing 21 goals, 11 assists, and 58 saves in her career. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health, fitness and recreation management from George Mason and a master’s of science in coaching education from Ohio University.
