Kelly Graves is the head coach of the University of Oregon women’s basketball program, where he has built one of the nation’s premier teams since taking over in 2014. Over more than a decade in Eugene, Graves has transformed the Ducks into a national powerhouse, highlighted by a Final Four appearance in 2019 and multiple Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen runs. His teams have captured Pac-12 regular-season and tournament championships, including a historic three-peat from 2018 to 2020. Known for his offensive system and player development, Graves has coached numerous All-Americans and WNBA draft picks, including Sabrina Ionescu, one of the most decorated players in NCAA history. His tenure has been marked by consistent 20-win seasons and national rankings, elevating Oregon into the upper echelon of women’s college basketball.
Before Oregon, Graves enjoyed highly successful head coaching stints at Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s, compiling an extensive résumé that includes multiple conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. At Gonzaga, he led the program to sustained dominance in the West Coast Conference and an Elite Eight appearance as an underdog seed. Over his career, Graves has amassed more than 600 Division I wins and is widely respected for his ability to build winning cultures and develop elite talent. A former collegiate player at New Mexico, Graves has also contributed to USA Basketball as a coach, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top figures in the sport.
