Kelly Doton is the head coach of the Boston College field hockey program in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and is entering her 10th season leading the Eagles after previously serving on the staff for two additional years. A member of the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame's Class of 2024, she has posted the best winning percentage of any Boston College field hockey head coach with at least 50 games and has led the program through one of its strongest stretches, highlighted by a trip to the 2019 NCAA Final Four and regular contention in the ACC.
Doton joined Boston College's coaching staff before the 2013 season and was elevated to head coach in 2015. Her teams have reached the NCAA Tournament three times under her leadership, in 2015, 2016, and 2019, and she also was on staff for NCAA appearances in 2013 and 2014. Boston College recorded double-digit victories in seven of her first nine seasons as head coach, and the Eagles won nine games in the COVID-shortened 2020-21 campaign. Her tenure has included a substantial collection of individual honors for Boston College players, including 17 NFHCA All-Americans, eight of them first-team selections, along with 23 All-ACC honorees and 37 NFHCA All-Region selections.
