Kelly Curry
Assistant Coach
Kelly Curry has been a cornerstone of the University of Alabama women’s basketball staff since 2013, serving as assistant coach and offensive coordinator. Entering his 13th season with the Crimson Tide in 2025–26, Curry oversees perimeter development, scheduling, scouting, and offensive strategy. During his tenure, Alabama has experienced a sustained resurgence, highlighted by multiple 20-win seasons, NCAA Tournament appearances, and national rankings. In 2024–25, the Tide posted a 24-9 record, earned top-25 recognition, and produced three WNBA Draft selections. Curry has played a key role in developing standout guards and perimeter players, contributing to record-setting three-point shooting performances and All-SEC honors for numerous student-athletes.
Before arriving in Tuscaloosa, Curry spent seven seasons at Texas Tech, where he served as defensive coordinator and helped lead the Lady Raiders to two NCAA Tournament appearances while consistently fielding strong defensive units. Prior to that, he was part of highly successful staffs at Purdue and Louisiana Tech. At Purdue, he contributed to multiple Big Ten championships and seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the 2001 national championship game. At Louisiana Tech, he coached under Hall of Famer Leon Barmore and helped guide the Lady Techsters to a Final Four appearance. A native of Hillsboro, Texas, Curry earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M and a teaching certification from Stephen F. Austin. He and his spouse, Alabama head coach Kristy Curry, have two daughters, Kelsey and Kendall.
