Kellie Wilkerson is a veteran assistant coach for the Portland State University softball program, entering her 10th season in her current stint and 13th overall with the Vikings. A former U.S. National Team member, Wilkerson has played a key role in the program’s success since returning to the staff in 2017. During her tenure, Portland State has achieved multiple 20-win seasons, including a standout 28-win campaign in 2022, and captured the 2021 Big Sky Championship with a return to the NCAA Tournament. Working primarily with outfielders and hitters, Wilkerson has helped develop several all-conference players while contributing to some of the most productive offensive seasons in program history.
Wilkerson brings extensive experience from both her playing and coaching career. A standout at Mississippi State, she was a four-time All-American and All-SEC selection, finishing with one of the highest career batting averages in program history and setting an NCAA single-season saves record. Professionally, she played in the National Pro Fastpitch league, earning All-NPF honors and a league batting title. She also competed internationally as a member of the U.S. National Team. In addition to her collegiate coaching roles, Wilkerson has led successful high school programs and contributed to player development at multiple levels. Her combination of elite playing credentials and long-standing coaching experience has made her a cornerstone of Portland State softball.
