Kayla Bacon is an assistant women's basketball coach at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and enters her third year on the staff and second in the assistant coach role. In 2023-24, she was part of a Drexel staff that led the Dragons to the program's third CAA title, extended the team's postseason streak to 10 consecutive years, and reached the NCAA Tournament as a No. 16 seed, where Drexel faced Texas in Austin.
In Bacon's first season on the bench, Drexel recorded its sixth straight full season with at least 20 wins and advanced to its ninth consecutive national postseason tournament, with multiple players earning conference and national recognition. A native of Owings Mills, Maryland, Bacon previously served as a team captain at Drexel and played in 101 games from 2018 to 2021. She scored in double figures three times as a senior and was part of the Dragons' 2021 CAA championship run, averaging more than 27 minutes per game in that tournament. Bacon was also a founding member of the Black Student-Athlete Union and was recognized by the CAA for her work promoting diversity and inclusion.
