Katy Steding is the Peiros Family Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and a Stanford Hall of Famer who returned to her alma mater after a long playing and coaching career. Working primarily with post players, she helped Stanford post a 138-33 record over her first five seasons on staff, with multiple Pac-12 titles and strong postseason results.
As a player, Steding helped lead Stanford to the 1990 NCAA championship and remains prominent in the program record book for scoring, rebounding, three-point shooting, and steals. She later won Olympic gold with Team USA in 1996, played professionally in the ABL and WNBA, and coached at Warner Pacific, Atlanta, Columbia, California, Boston University, and San Francisco before returning to Stanford.
