Katie Woods is the head coach of the University of Connecticut women's lacrosse team in Storrs, Connecticut, and is in her 16th season leading the program in 2026. Hired in 2011, she has built the most successful run in UConn women's lacrosse history, posting the top win total and winning percentage in program history and earning three BIG EAST Coach of the Year honors. Her teams have produced numerous all-conference and national honorees, including 30 All-BIG EAST first-team selections, 12 conference players of the year, six IWLCA Division I All-Americans, and 12 IWLCA All-Region first-team picks.
Under Woods, UConn reached new program milestones. The Huskies earned their first NCAA Tournament berth and first appearance in the BIG EAST Championship in 2013, then recorded the program's first BIG EAST Tournament win and another trip to the conference title game in 2015. More recently, Woods led UConn to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances from 2021 through 2023. The 2021 season was especially notable: UConn finished 12-7 overall and 7-3 in BIG EAST play, reached the conference championship game, received an at-large NCAA bid, and set school records for goals, points, shots, and draw controls. That season also saw Sydney Watson become the first IWLCA first-team All-American in program history, while Woods and her staff were recognized as the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.
