Katie Gerzabek Salem is the head field hockey coach at Towson University in Towson, Maryland, and enters her fourth season leading the program in 2026 after being hired on December 13, 2022. She became the 13th head coach in program history after arriving from Rhodes College.
In her first three seasons at Towson, Gerzabek Salem oversaw steady progress for the Tigers. In 2023, her first year, Towson finished 10-10 for its highest win total since 2011, and she picked up her first Division I victory in a 3-2 shootout against Davidson on August 27, 2023. Sarah Hatfield earned second-team All-CAA honors after leading the team with nine goals and 21 points. Towson improved again in 2024, when freshman Anouk Westerink became the first Towson rookie selected to the All-CAA first team, while Hatfield and Kristin Strijdom were named to the All-CAA second team. In 2025, Westerink became the third player in program history to receive a second All-CAA first-team selection and the first to do so as both a freshman and sophomore. The Tigers also produced multiple CAA All-Rookie selections for the second consecutive year and opened conference play 2-0 for the first time since joining the CAA.
