Katey Hendershott
Assistant Head Coach
Katey Hendershott joined the University of Maryland Softball program as an assistant coach in 2024. Prior to her appointment, she served as an assistant coach at Oakland University, where she helped lead the Golden Grizzlies to back-to-back Horizon League regular season titles. In 2022, Oakland won the conference tournament and made an appearance in the NCAA tournament. Hendershott, a native of Ortonville, Michigan, oversaw the defense for Oakland softball during her tenure. Her experience and leadership were instrumental in the team's success. Before her time at Oakland, Hendershott worked as a graduate assistant at Purdue Fort Wayne. Her primary responsibilities included coordinating the defense and assisting with hitting. Off the field, she scouted opponents and coordinated practice plans accordingly. This role allowed her to further develop her coaching skills and contribute to the team's overall performance.
