Kate Malveaux
Co-Head Coach
Kate Malveaux enters her second season as Co-Head Coach of Auburn softball in 2026, sharing leadership of the program with her husband, Chris Malveaux. The pair took over the Tigers on June 5, 2024, with Kate primarily overseeing catchers, team defense, and base running. In their first season, Auburn recorded 35 wins and earned its 11th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. The Tigers opened the year with a 20-1 start and finished 35-24 while competing against one of the nation’s toughest schedules. Defensively, Auburn posted a .966 fielding percentage and ranked among the SEC leaders in double plays turned. Catcher Aubrie Lisenby finished with one of the top fielding percentages in program history, while Nelia Peralta concluded her career ranked among Auburn’s all-time leaders in assists and double plays.
Malveaux came to Auburn after three seasons on staff at Tennessee, where she worked extensively with catchers and base runners. During her tenure, the Lady Vols captured back-to-back SEC regular season championships and advanced to the Women’s College World Series in 2023. Tennessee consistently ranked among the SEC’s top teams in stolen bases per game, and its catchers committed just two errors during the 2024 season. A former standout at Bradley and New Mexico State, Malveaux earned All-Missouri Valley Conference and Academic All-District honors as a player. A native of Witt, Illinois, she and Chris have two children, Gabe and Ellie.
