Kate Leary has served as an assistant coach for Boston College women's ice hockey in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, since June 2023. She returned to Boston College after assistant coaching stops at Merrimack over the previous two seasons and at St. Anselm in 2020-21. Earlier, she was head coach of the Walpole Express juniors team in 2019-20 and also worked with Trax Academy in Walpole, where she oversaw on-ice skill instruction and tutored high school students. Her coaching background also includes Hill Hockey, Elite Hockey Development, and Leprechauns Hockey.
A Boston College alumna, Leary played four seasons for the Eagles and was part of four NCAA Tournament teams, three Frozen Four squads, two Hockey East regular-season champions, and the 2014 Beanpot title team. She appeared in 149 games and finished with 85 career points, including a senior season in 2014-15 with 17 goals and 31 points.
