Kat Benton-LaEzza joined the University of Oregon women’s soccer staff in the spring of 2025, bringing a diverse coaching background and a strong reputation for player development and program building. In her first season with the Ducks, she contributed to one of the program’s top defensive performances, as Oregon allowed just 21 goals while competing in the Big Ten Conference. Despite a narrow-margin season in terms of results, the team demonstrated competitiveness throughout, including a signature upset victory over a top-10 ranked Washington squad.
Prior to Oregon, Benton-LaEzza spent four seasons at Chico State, helping guide the program to consistent success and multiple conference tournament appearances. She also served as an assistant coach at Kansas State and previously returned to her alma mater, Kansas Wesleyan, where she led the Coyotes as head coach to a conference championship sweep in 2018 and earned KCAC Coach of the Year honors. Her coaching résumé includes extensive involvement in Olympic Development Programs and youth soccer leadership roles. As a former standout player at Kansas Wesleyan, Benton-LaEzza earned all-conference and all-region honors while helping lead her team to national tournament appearances. Known for her energy, competitiveness, and leadership, she continues to play a key role in Oregon’s growth.
