Kasondra McKay is the director of recruiting and an assistant coach for the West Virginia University women's basketball program in Morgantown, West Virginia. She joined the Mountaineers in July 2025. In the 2025-26 season, West Virginia recorded its third consecutive 25-win campaign, won the program's second Big 12 Tournament championship, earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, advanced to the second round, and finished ranked No. 18 nationally after climbing as high as No. 11. That season also saw Jordan Harrison make a WNBA opening-night roster, giving the program a professional player in back-to-back years.
McKay arrived at West Virginia with more than a decade of coaching experience. She spent the previous two seasons at Colorado State as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, where the Rams posted consecutive 20-win seasons. Colorado State won 22 games in her final year there, the program's highest total in nine seasons. Her recruiting work at CSU included signing Kloe Froebe and Brooke Carlson, both of whom earned Mountain West All-Freshman honors, along with Creighton transfer Emma Ronsiek, who was named Mountain West Newcomer of the Year and received WBCA All-America honorable mention. She also helped add Indiana transfer Lexi Bargesser in spring 2025.
