Kal-El Statham is the edges coach for Towson University football in Towson, Maryland, returning to the Tigers for the 2026 season after previously serving on the staff as a quality control coach in 2023.
Statham rejoined Towson after one season at Florida Atlantic as assistant defensive line coach, where he worked with both interior defensive linemen and defensive ends. One of the players in that group, CJ Doggette Jr., earned American Athletic Conference third-team honors after recording a team-high seven sacks in 2025. Before his time at FAU, Statham spent 2024 at Fairmont State as defensive line coach, run game coordinator, and recruiting coordinator, contributing to a seven-win season. He also has experience at Stevenson as defensive line coach, video coordinator, and social media content creator.
