Justin Oney is an assistant baseball coach at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, where he serves as the program's pitching coach. He joined the Mountaineers in the summer of 2022 as director of player development, moved into the pitching coordinator role in 2023, and was promoted to assistant coach in 2025. His responsibilities have included work with the pitching staff, daily team operations, technology and data implementation, and camp activities.
Under Oney's guidance, West Virginia's pitchers have contributed to several of the most successful seasons in program history. In 2025, the Mountaineers won the Big 12 regular-season title, reached the NCAA Super Regional for the second straight year, and set a school record with 44 wins. Griffin Kirn earned All-America honors and multiple all-conference and all-tournament selections before being chosen in the 14th round of the 2025 MLB Draft, while Jack Kartsonas was named All-Big 12 second team and Reese Bassinger and Chase Meyer received honorable mention recognition. Kirn, Robby Porco, and Kartsonas all went on to sign professional contracts after the season.
