Justin Makar is the associate head coach for the University of Delaware men's soccer program in Newark, Delaware. He joined the Blue Hens staff for the 2022 season after previously working with head coach Tommy McMenemy at Michigan.
At Delaware, Makar has been part of a period of notable progress for the program. In 2025, the Blue Hens went 12-2-3 in their first season in The Summit League, reached the conference semifinals, and set a program benchmark for fewest losses in a season of at least 15 matches. Delaware opened 7-0, stayed unbeaten through its first 10 matches, and finished undefeated at home. The team also led the nation in scoring offense and points per game, broke 16 school records, and produced multiple all-conference and all-region honorees, including Summit League Midfielder of the Year Rich Monath. In 2024, Makar helped integrate a freshman class that included Marius Stenner, who earned CAA weekly honors, landed on Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top 100 Freshmen list, and finished the regular season tied for the national lead among freshmen in game-winning goals.
