Josh Ramos
Head Coach
Josh Ramos was appointed Head Football Coach at Laney College in 2024, after having served on the coaching staff at Laney since 2012, including as Defensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach beginning in 2015. Before his tenure at Laney, Ramos spent five years as an assistant coach and adjunct instructor at Solano Community College, where he filled multiple roles including Defensive Goal Line Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Linebackers coach, Defensive Backs coach, Video Coordinator, and recruiting coordinator.
Ramos was a standout football player at Winters High School and then at Solano Community College, where he earned First-Team All-Conference honors as a linebacker. He then transferred to California State University Sacramento, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, and later attained a Master’s degree in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy. At Laney, Coach Ramos emphasizes building a family atmosphere and a culture of toughness and togetherness — as his spring-2025 statement “Wings Wide and Talons Out!” indicates.
