Josh Hill is an assistant coach for the Virginia Commonwealth University golf program in Richmond, Virginia, and joined VCU in August 2024. Before arriving at VCU, he spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons as head coach at Sewanee, where he guided the Tigers to an NCAA Championship berth in 2024 and a No. 10 finish in the final Scoreboard NCAA rankings. Sewanee also produced multiple highly ranked individual golfers under his direction, including Pearse Lucas, who earned All-America honors and SAA Player of the Year recognition, and Grayson Maddox, who received all-conference honors after the 2024 season and All-America recognition after 2023.
Earlier in his coaching career, Hill was the head men's golf coach at Wabash College, where the team placed fifth at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship and Brayden Weiss earned first-team all-conference honors with a fourth-place finish. He also served as an assistant coach at Guilford College from 2020 to 2021, helping the Quakers win an ODAC title and finish third at the 2021 NCAA Division III Championship. As a Guilford player, Hill was a three-time All-American, a three-time first-team All-ODAC selection, and a two-time Jack Nicklaus Award semifinalist, and he helped lead the Quakers to three NCAA Championship appearances, including a national runner-up finish in 2017.
