Josh Hayman is the head coach of the University of Delaware cross country and track and field program in Newark, Delaware. A Delaware native and a veteran head coach, he is the seventh head coach in the history of the school's cross country program and the sixth for track and field. In 2025-26, Delaware showed clear progress in its first year in Conference USA, finishing fourth at the conference cross country championship. Marie-Theres Gruber placed second at the meet, earned first-team all-conference honors, and set the program's 6K record at the Paul Short Classic. During the track season, Delaware collected five all-conference honors, and Lauren Leath and Olamide Ayeni became the first athletes in program history to win their events at the Conference USA Championships, with Leath taking the 400-meter hurdles and Ayeni winning the discus.
In Hayman's first year leading Delaware, the Blue Hens posted strong regular-season cross country results, including first-place finishes at the Lehigh Invitational and Delaware Invitational and a second-place finish at the NJIT Highlander XC Challenge. Delaware improved its standing at the CAA indoor championships and placed seventh at the CAA outdoor championships. Across the indoor and outdoor seasons, the program produced 43 top-10 all-time marks, eight top-three finishes, two NCAA East First Round qualifiers, two program records, and one CAA champion.
