Josh Eventoff
Head Coach
Josh Eventoff was named head coach of both the men’s and women’s tennis programs at Loyola University Maryland in August 2022. A Baltimore-area native, Eventoff brings decades of tennis and coaching experience to Loyola. Prior to his hiring, he served as Director of Tennis at Hunt Valley Country Club (beginning in 2016) while also working as associate head coach at Gilman School, where the program won eight consecutive Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) titles. Earlier in his career, Eventoff was head coach at Coppin State University (2003–05) and at Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) from 1997–99, among other roles at tennis clubs and fitness-centers in the Baltimore area.
As a collegiate athlete, he played at Towson University, winning No. 1 singles and doubles titles in the East Coast Conference/ECAC, and later transferred to the University of Maryland, where he competed in the ACC and graduated with a B.A. in arts & humanities. He also holds a certificate in digital design from the Maryland Institute College of Art. At Loyola, Eventoff emphasizes a holistic approach—developing student-athletes on the court, in the classroom, and in life—with the target of earning championships while strengthening character and academic performance.
