Jordan Johnson is the running backs coach for the University at Buffalo football program in Buffalo, New York, and is in his second season in that position. A Buffalo native and former Bulls running back, he returned to his alma mater after coaching running backs at Penn in 2024. In his first season back at UB, Buffalo averaged 132.3 rushing yards per game and scored 15 rushing touchdowns, while Al-Jay Henderson ranked ninth in the Mid-American Conference at 62.9 rushing yards per game and added six touchdowns.
Before returning to Buffalo, Johnson spent one season at Penn, where he coached Malachi Hosley to Ivy League Player of the Year honors. Hosley led the league with 1,192 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, and his rushing total ranked eighth in Penn history. Johnson previously worked four seasons at Bucknell, where he coached Coleman Bennett to second-team All-Patriot League recognition in 2023 after Bennett ranked seventh in the FCS and second in the Patriot League in all-purpose yards per game. In 2022, Bucknell averaged 114.4 rushing yards per game, with Rushawn Baker rushing for 646 yards and seven touchdowns. Johnson also coached a shared backfield at Bucknell in 2021 and was on staff for the spring 2021 season, when the Bison reached the Patriot League Championship Game in a COVID-shortened campaign.
