Jon Yohman is the assistant coach for throws for the University of Pittsburgh track and field and cross country program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a position he joined in September 2023. He came to Pitt after two seasons at Tiffin University, where he served as assistant throws coach and helped the program qualify for 14 throwing-event appearances at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships, producing eight All-American performances.
Before Tiffin, Yohman spent two years at Robert Morris as an assistant coach for throwers and pole vaulters while also overseeing strength and conditioning for the track and field team. His athletes there included Keturah Hunter, who set school records in the weight throw and hammer throw, and he coached four conference champions as the Colonials won 10 conference medals in the throws. Yohman began his college coaching career as a volunteer at West Virginia in 2019 and founded the Ox Strength strength and throws club in 2017. As a Penn State student-athlete, he reached the NCAA East Preliminaries from 2016 through 2018, finished 11th in the 2017 shot put finals, and earned All-American and Academic All-American honors. He holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a master's degree in educational leadership.
