John Napolitano is the assistant coach for throws for the University of Massachusetts Amherst men's and women's track and field programs in Amherst, Massachusetts, a position he has held since fall 2017. He coaches the Minutemen and Minutewomen throwers and also works with the multis in throwing events.
At UMass, Napolitano has coached athletes to the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships, including Danielle Notarfrancesco in the shot put and hammer in 2018 and Joseph Duggan in the discus in 2022. His throwers have also produced Atlantic 10 champions, New England champions, 23 all-time top-five marks in the program record book, and three school records across indoor and outdoor competition. During his tenure, the UMass women won Atlantic 10 team titles indoors in 2020 and outdoors in 2022.
