John Morookian became the assistant coach for the offensive line at the University of Connecticut football program in Storrs, Connecticut, in 2026. He arrived from Michigan, where he coached the offensive line after serving in an analytical position in 2022 for a unit that won the Joe Moore Award as the nation's top offensive line and helped the Wolverines claim an undefeated Big Ten championship season and a College Football Playoff berth.
Before Michigan, Morookian spent two seasons at Charlotte, first coaching offensive tackles and tight ends and later overseeing the full offensive line. In 2023, tight end Colin Weber led the team with 34 catches, becoming the first tight end in program history to finish first on the team in receptions. Morookian previously coached the offensive line at Akron in 2021 and at Kansas in 2020 after joining that staff as a senior analyst.
