John Jayakumar is an assistant coach for Villanova women's tennis in Villanova, Pennsylvania, and also works with the university's men's program. He joined the staff full-time in July 2026 after serving as a volunteer assistant with the women's team since 2024.
Jayakumar, a Philadelphia native, has more than 14 years of coaching experience with players ranging from beginners to juniors and college athletes. In 2026, he was named the ITA Northeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year, one of 13 honorees nationwide. He graduated from Erskine College in South Carolina, where he earned Team MVP honors, received CVAC Honorable Mention recognition, and was ranked No. 23 nationally and No. 15 regionally in Division II doubles.
