John Delaney is the head baseball coach at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, and is set to enter his 13th season leading the Bobcats in 2027. A former Quinnipiac player, Delaney was named the program's 10th head coach in 2014-15 and the fourth at the Division I level after serving on the staff as an assistant in 2013 and associate head coach in 2014, Quinnipiac's first season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Delaney has overseen several of the most successful seasons in Quinnipiac's Division I era. His 2019 team reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005, earned the program's first MAAC regular-season and tournament championships, and recorded a program-record 30 wins. Quinnipiac also earned its first NCAA Tournament victory by beating No. 10 East Carolina in its opener. That club set program records in several offensive categories, including runs, hits, doubles, RBIs, stolen bases, and walks, while Andrew Workman became the first Quinnipiac player to win a major MAAC award when he was named Relief Pitcher of the Year. Pitcher Tyler Poulin was later selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 29th round of the Major League Draft.
