Joe Mullaney is the associate head coach for Villanova University women's basketball in Villanova, Pennsylvania, entering his 30th season with the Wildcats in 2025-26. He joined the staff in 1996 and moved into the associate head coach position in 1998-99, with responsibilities that include on-court coaching and opponent scouting.
Before arriving at Villanova, Mullaney spent 12 seasons as the head women's basketball coach at St. John's, where he posted a 168-173 record and led the program to an NCAA Tournament berth. He also served as head coach at Providence from 1980 to 1983, going 66-27 with the Friars. Across his head coaching career, he produced three 20-win seasons and was named BIG EAST Conference Coach of the Year in 1990-91.
