Joe Haumacher
Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Joe Haumacher is an assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at Princeton University, where he began his tenure ahead of the 2023 season. Entering his second season with the Tigers in 2024, Haumacher has contributed to one of the most dramatic turnarounds in college baseball, as Princeton improved by 17 wins in 2023 and reached the Ivy League Tournament championship game. His work with the pitching staff was a key factor in that resurgence, with multiple pitchers showing marked improvement across core statistical categories and earning All-Ivy League recognition. Under his guidance, the Tigers developed depth, durability, and consistency on the mound, highlighted by record-setting appearances and postseason-caliber performances.
Before arriving at Princeton, Haumacher spent three seasons in professional baseball with the Baltimore Orioles organization, working as an affiliate pitching coach within Major League Baseball’s top-ranked farm system at the time. His role blended on-field player development with advanced analytics, biomechanics, and collaboration with scouting departments on draft preparation. Earlier in his career, Haumacher gained extensive experience at both the collegiate and professional levels, including coaching stops at Amherst College, Dixie State University, Raritan Valley Community College, and in elite summer leagues. He also worked closely with renowned pitching expert Tom House and the National Pitching Association at the University of Southern California, assisting professional pitchers with rehabilitation, mechanics, and performance optimization. A native of Middlesex, New Jersey, Haumacher played Division I baseball at Wofford College and Old Dominion University and later competed professionally before transitioning into coaching. His background in analytics-driven development and recruiting continues to shape Princeton’s approach to building a competitive, modern baseball program.
